LUXURY VINYL PLANK

DURABILITY AND CHOICES GALORE!

In many ways, luxury vinyl plank (or LVP) is the perfect blend of designer-quality style and affordability! There are so many different options that give you the beauty of a hardwood look with the durability that can last a lifetime—all at affordable price ranges, depending on your budget.

You simply must see it to believe it! And I have a ton of samples in my store; so, come on in and take a look!

Here are just a few of the pros and cons of LVP. And don't forget to download our FREE Guide to Starting Your Flooring Project!)

THE BENEFITS:

1. Cost.

Whereas some hardwood flooring can cost up to $14.00 per square foot (exotic and rare woods), we have many LVP products for under $5.00 and as low as $3.00 per square foot.

Our affordable options look amazing and ourhigher-end lines will make your home magazine-beautiful.

We literally have amazing, high-quality products for every price range.

2. Design options.

The styles and looks are endless. Want classy and elegant? Got it. Rustic and farmhouse? Got it. Sophisticated contemporary? Well, you know the answer to that. Your home is a blank canvas for your creative designing.

And if you don't want a wood look, you have so many different styles to choose from, even natural stone and slate.

3. Versatility & Easy Maintenance.

One of the biggest advantages of LVP is that it can be used anywhere. Bathrooms and kitchens that are typically off-limits for hardwood are perfect for LVP.

Unlike wood, which can swell with leaks or flooding (say, a broken water pipe), LVP will not be damaged by spills or leaks. Its durability is perfect for high-traffic areas where children run and pets play. And keeping it clean is a cinch!

4. Ease of installation.

In some instances, your luxury vinyl plank can be installed directly over your existing floor. It is incredibly durable with a  click-and-lock structure that delivers tight seals. But if for some reason you did damage a plank or two, replacing individual boards is a simple fix without having to tear out large sections or sanding and refinishing, as you would likely have to do with hardwoods.

THE CHALLENGES:

With all the many benefits of LVP, it is hard to find the drawback. But, as with every product, there are a few things to consider.

1. You can't refinish it.

Depending on your budget, you'll want to make sure you get a product with a thick enough wear layer, as some products have a thin surface that can easily scratch. We only use high-quality LVP and refuse any manufacturer that produces low-quality products.

And even though it is incredibly durable, just like any flooring, you'll still want to be careful to not scratch it. Even so, this goes back to one of its biggest pros: replacing a damaged board is easy!

2. Difficult to remove.

Depending on your method of installation, LVP can be difficult to remove if you opt for a glue-down installation. But there are many products and spaces where a "floating" installation will work just perfectly. Also, it is not biodegradable. So if you tear it out at some point in the future, it will likely still last a very, very long time in a landfill. As I said, it is extremely durable!
